Town initiates Korean language training

IN ACCORDANCE with the bilateral agreement between the Philippine and South Korean governments, the Guagua Municipal Government has opened a Korean Language training center in the town.
This is to fulfill the Korean government's requirement on Oversees Filipino Workers (OFWs) to be proficient in the Korean language prior to employment.
A memorandum of agreement (MOA) was signed between the Municipal Government and Far East Gold, the institution that would train students on the Korean language of Hangul.
The agreement was signed between municipal officials and Irma Kim, president of Far East Gold.

According to Municipal Administrator Isaias Panganiban, the project will be received well because it is cheap and more accessible.
"Enrollees will only be paying around P7,000 to P8,000 a month because the local government had shouldered the space for the new training center," Panganiban added.
The training center is located at the third floor of the Andres Goseco Hall. Another training center is located in the

The training center is open to OFWs and would-be applicants that are residents of Guagua. However, the training center is also open to people from other municipalities but on a preferential basis.
"We are also accepting enrollees from other municipalities but they will be given secondary priority," Panganiban said. The training center will run for six months.
