MABALACAT -- Officials and faculty of the Asian Institute of Computer Studies (AICS), a computer school here, are complaining that the existence of a videoke place and billiard hall in the area that is said to be under the "padrino" of a local official.

The videoke shop and billiard hall is located behind the New Mendoza building at Hill Street within the Dau business district but is directly behind the computer school.

Officials of the school are complaining that the shop allows the loud playing of its videoke machine, causing disturbance to the classes in the school.

According to John Cos, school registrar, they have repeatedly asked the management of the shop to at least minimize the volume of their videoke machine so as not to disturb the classes in the computer school.

The videoke shop is also allegedly selling alcoholic drinks to the students of AICS and nearby campuses even during class hours.

"We don't have jurisdiction outside the school, but we are concern about the children. We are asking the local officials that appropriate actions should be taken against the videoke shop," said Cos.
